China’s Devised Clampdown on Muslim Uighurs

Uninvited, more than one million Han Chinese people have reportedly moved into the homes of Uighur Muslim families to report on whether they display Islamic or unpatriotic beliefs. Sent to homes in Xinjiang province by the Chinese government... tasked with watching for signs that their hosts’ attachment to Islam might be “extreme”. The informants, who describe themselves as "relatives" of the families they are staying with, are said to have received specific instructions on how to get them to let their guard down. The Chinese authorities notorious for their brutal treatment of the Muslim Uighurs and the forced attempts to secularize the Muslim community and have them relinquish their belief in Allah and their Deen through various inhumane tactics from the horrific detainment camps to occupy their minds with pro-Chinese Communist ideas (see Bitter Winter’s report for images and video) to taking infants and children from their living Muslim parents and placing them in orphanages to banning hijab... only a few of the many atrocities against the Muslims of China.

The Chinese government has enforced another tactic to curb Islamic practices in the private sphere of the home...more than one million Chinese dubbed as “relatives” forced upon the Muslims to live in their homes surveiling every minute detail for any inkling of practicing Islamic ritual especially on those released from the “re-education camps” (better known as concentration camps).

Not only is it enough the Muslims are subjected to public persecution and humiliation, now their privacy is fully invaded by those serving as the eyes and ears for the government.

Abu Hurayra (ra) reported that the Prophet (saw) said, «لَوْ اطَّلَعَ رَجُلٌ فِي بَيْتِكَ، فَخَذَفْتَهُ بِحَصَاةٍ فَفَقَأْتَ عَيْنَهُ، مَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ جُنَاحٌ»‏‏

“If a man looks into your house and you take some pebbles and gouge out his eye, there is no fault in you.” How would that be possible for the vulnerable Uighur Muslims to protect the sanctity of their homes, the awrat of their honors, the women of the household, prevent the intrusion in their private sphere, the ikhtlaat (gender mixing) and the khulwa (seclusion) in their homes? The constant watch over the mother-daughter bond, the father-son bond, and over the husband and wife, monitoring movement in the house and the upbringing of the children if they are even afforded that right. Not sufficing at this, the spies are to suggest haram acts such as eating pork and drinking alcohol, wearing shorter clothing and shaving the beard, monitoring for reaction and rejection! La hawla wala quwatta illah billah, the extent of the Chinese regime in shoving their defunct Communist ideas upon the Muslims in order to quell the very limited practice of their Deen all the while relying on the iron fist method to ensure compliance by the masses.

The Muslim population in China have witnessed firsthand the clampdown of the iron fist yet this has yielded them to clenching onto their Deen as described in the Hadeeth,

«يِأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ الْقَابِضُ عَلَى دينه كالقابض على الجمر»

“There will come a day when holding on to your religion will be holding on to hot coals.” To believe in an intellectual principle that soothes the heart even in times of fear and severe oppression will drive the believer to adhere firmly to what will guide them towards patience and hope, bi’thinallah. Whereas the ruthless tactics of subjecting one to outwardly “show” that one acts as if they believe in false intellectually bankrupt ideas will remain as they are, false and bankrupt. No government authority can possess the power to change internal convictions despite having physical might and tactics, and to arrogantly expect that the Uighur population who believe in the Oneness of a Creator and that Islam is the true Deen will be replaced with Communist rejection of religion and atheism is truly haughty....all for making their fall all the more inevitable.

(يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّـهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى اللَّـهُ إِلَّا أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ)

“They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.” [At-Tawba: 32]
