The Nonsensical Closure of Educational Institutions Only Proves that Secular Rulers are Least Bothered about the People’s Livelihood or Education
News:
Bangladesh government has extended further the closure of all educational institutions across the country to August 31 in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) infections. The education ministry issued a circular in this regard on Thursday night. Earlier, the government extended the closure of all education institutions till July 31. The educational institutions have been closed since 17 March last year owing to the corona virus issue. (Source: July 30, 2021, risingbd.com)
Comment:
Since Covid-19 outbreak, general people in Bangladesh have been suffering and enduring irreparable losses. It is not the virus that has caused all these but rather the corrupt ruling system and irresponsible rulers are to blame for most of the crisis. Our reckless rulers are following the Western prescription blindly, and imposing country-wide lockdown without considering the local reality. One of the heavily impacted sector due to this inhumane and unreasoned lockdown is the educational sector with which many people’s earning are tied. Many of these institutions, especially the madrasas, serve as orphanage as well as learning centre. Many private institutions have been forced to shut permanently as there was no support from the State for teachers and their institutions. The regime has also failed to arrange alternative learning platform due to technological backwardness. These show, how neglected our education sector is under this Capitalist system.
However, during this on-going corona virus situation, we noticed rulers did allow export-oriented garments factories to operate because they must please imperialists and local capitalists who ultimately hold the strings of their power, whereas, they play the virus card when it comes to the people’s right to education, business, employment etc.
Coronavirus has indeed exposed the true face of this cruel Capitalist system. People’s rights and interests have always been neglected under secular democracy. The main concern of the rulers of this system is to be in the ruling position by serving the foreign masters and local elites – the engine of their corruption and survival. As a result, there has already been a huge gap between the rulers and the people. People have already lost confidence on the democratic system, and are demanding a true change. So, under the pretext of the corona virus outbreak, the falling Hasina regime is manipulating this issue to suppress the people and their legitimate demand for change so that it can prolong their corrupt ruling longer. Moreover, since this despotic regime is aware that the students have capability to stand against their tyranny, it is not giving any scope to the youths to organize at the campus and thus has kept the educational instit utions shut.
It is high time that the Ummah returned to her natural abode - the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) for the protection of their rights and interests as given by Allah (swt). The more we tolerate these pathetic secular rulers, the more miserable our lives would be in the coming days. Allah (swt) says in the Quran,
[وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى]
“But whoever turns away from My Reminder will certainly have a miserable life, then We will raise them up blind on the Day of Judgment.” [Ta Ha: 124].
