News:
Mother of the famous Tajik blogger “Abdurahmon 09”, Shokhida Mahmajonova, was moved to the prison of Dushanbe, mother of Shokhida Idimoh Makhmagonov reported on the 17th of February.
Comment:
Shahida Makhmagonova disappeared on February 3, 2022 after he went to take his phone from a police officer in Vakhdat. Her relatives searched for Shahida for several days, addressing the official request to police, which answered that they have no information about Shokhida Makhmagonov. After five days from the date of the disappearance of the woman, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan on its official website published information about the detain of the mother of the blogger. It is said that in relation to a resident of the city of Vakhdat Shohida Makhmagonova, there was a criminal case under p.2 of Article 307 (organization of the extremist community) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Shokhida allegedly shared in social networks publications of the opposition media.
The authorities even do not hide the fact that a woman is being pursued due to the activities of her son. "Recall that the Son of the detainee Mahmajon Sherzod Tulforovich is not a blogger or an oppositionist, but is wanted for the commission of the crimes of an extremist-terrorist nature", - the official report says. The persecution of parents of oppositionists is an absolutely new phenomenon for Tajikistan, and it is likely using of the experience introduced recently by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov regarding bloggers that were criticizing him. From December of previous year, relatives of popular Chechen bloggers (Tumso Abdurakhmanov, Mansur Sadulaev and Hassan Khalitov) - were kidnapped. And in January of this year, Chechen security workers kidnapped the mother of human rights activist Abubakar Yangulbayev and initiated the criminal case against her.
