Democracy is Politics of Division, Infighting and Chaos

News:

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on 17 March granted interim protective bail to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in nine cases, hours after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restrained the police from arresting him. He was scheduled to appear before a lower court in the federal capital in the Toshakhana corruption case on Saturday (today).

Comment:

The ruling PDM regime is constantly raising cases against the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, since he was ousted from the office of the prime minister last year. Imran Khan and his party, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), are crying foul. They say the cases are false to prevent Imran Khan from standing for election.

The people of Pakistan are fed up of the politics of chaos and division. The factions within the ruling elite, which include all political parties, the military leadership and upper courts, uphold a law that they themselves have made. Moreover, they manipulate the law and ignore it whenever it suits them. Nawaz Sharif, the leader of PML-N went abroad for medical treatment and did not return. Imran Khan has been called by many courts to appear, but he simply refuses on the pretext of security reasons, or takes an intimidating entourage to pressurize the judiciary. The military leadership is influencing the stances and reputation of the parties. The judiciary is giving verdicts to benefit a certain party.

The political chaos happens in every democracy, whether in the West or the East. Previously in the US, it was seen when Trump and his supporters refused to accept the results of the presidential elections and attacked Capitol Hill. It remains as a bitter bipartisan divide that persists today, paralyzing US foreign policy and budgetary decisions.

Democracy has sidelined the laws of the Creator, Allah (swt). It has handed over the right to enact laws to the people. It has disconnected the ruling elite from their link with their Creator. It pushes them to make laws which favor their desires. If their own laws do not benefit them, they simply put them asides, without any fear of the wrath of their Creator, Allah (swt).

In the ruling system of Islam, the Khilafah, the Khaleefah, walis, Amils, military commanders, judges, can never make laws according to their desires. Everyone, including the Khaleefah, is subject to the laws derived from the Noble Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger Allah (saw). The military commanders grant their material support to ensure the continuity of the ruling by Islam, whilst the judiciary settles all disputes according to Islam. The law is from Allah (swt), so the rulers cannot ignore or manipulate it.

The fighting among the ruling elite will never end under democracy. It provides an opportunity for every faction to make laws, to implement laws, to interpret laws according to their whims and desires. Pakistan’s political instability can only be put to end by re-establishing the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. Allah (swt) said,

“O believers! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. Should you disagree on anything, then refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you truly believe in Allah and the Last Day. This is the best and fairest resolution.” [TMQ Surah An-Nisaa 4:59].
