Islamic Rule and a Constitution is the Solution to the Problems of Muslims in Uzbekistan!

On 20 April, the Radio Liberty news agency reported: "Early voting for a referendum on a new version of the constitution began in Uzbekistan on 19 April. According to the Central Electoral Commission, the process will last until 26 April. The nationwide referendum is to be held on 30 April.

According to analysts, the likelihood that voters in the referendum will not accept the new constitution, which would allow 65-year-old incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to remain in power until 2040, is almost zero.

On the eve of the referendum, celebrations are taking place across the country under the slogan "The constitution is yours, mine, ours". There is a propaganda on social media with the hashtag "I care".

Article 106 of the amended Constitution provides for an extension of the presidential term from 5 to 7 years. The rule that one person cannot be president for more than two consecutive terms is retained".

News agencies and social media are flooded with the news and controversy about the upcoming referendum. Much of the debate is about changing the laws of the constitution and the president's ability to extend his term in office. But the problem is not about the length of the president's term or changing much of the country's constitution. The problem is on what basis, how and with what, does President Mirziyoyev rule?!

Today, the system of government in Uzbekistan completely contradicts Shariah law. First, the president and the republic are man-made systems of government, where laws are issued by a man. Secondly, the constitution of the country stipulates that Uzbekistan is a secular state, religion is separated from life and does not interfere in politics.

The people of Uzbekistan are Muslims, which means we must live by the laws of our Creator Allah. Allah Almighty has said in His Noble Book:

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ]

“O believers! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you” [4:59].

Muslims in Uzbekistan, should discuss the question on the basis of which Mirziyoyev rules? Said Allah Almighty:

[فَاحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءهُمْ عَمَّا جَاءكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ]

“So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires over the truth that has come to you” [5:48].

As long as Muslims of Uzbekistan live by laws and system invented by a man, the nation will suffer. Allah Almighty has created a man limited and incapable of solving his life problems, since a man has not created himself. To solve the man's problems, Allah Almighty has sent us our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) and sent down the religion of Islam.

Therefore, Muslims in Uzbekistan need to discuss how to scrap the system and the constitution invented by a man, and get to work to revive the Islamic way of life. Only then, with the help of Allah, the Muslims of Uzbekistan will get rid of troubles and sufferings and find peace and solace in the religion of Allah, Islam!
