Fearing Imminent Removal from Power, Hasina Government has submitted to the will of America by announcing its official Indo-Pacific Outlook

Bangladesh on Monday officially revealed its 15-point Indo-Pacific Outlook envisioning a free, open, peaceful, secure, and inclusive Indo-Pacific one day before the commencement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s tri-nation visit to Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom. The Indo-Pacific area’s collective share in global GDP, preponderance in international trade, enhanced climate action and growing technological dynamism can be key determinants for ensuring Bangladesh’s long-term resilience and prosperity,’ state minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam said. Bangladesh’s Indo-Pacific outlook and engagements include ‘Strengthen mutual trust and respect, forge partnerships and cooperation, and promote dialogue and understanding with the aim of ensuring peace, prosperity, security and stability for all in the Indo-Pacific’ and ‘strengthen existing mechanisms on maritime safety and security in the Indo-Pacific’ (The New Age, April 24, 2023).

Comment:

The United States has long been pressuring Bangladesh to actively participate in the Indo-Pacific Strategy. Bangladesh's accession to the Indo-Pacific Strategy has been under discussion for a long time in the Bangladesh-US Partnership Dialogue as well as in the series of visits by US officials.  Having been pursued for many years, Bangladesh on Monday has finally announced its ‘Indo-Pacific Outlook', noting that it considers stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific to be a “crucial factor” in realizing the country's Vision 2041.  Advisers to the ruling elite and pro-US interest groups and think-tanks in Bangladesh see the release of a holistic view on the Indo-Pacific as a smart and timely diplomacy to present Bangladesh as an active, interested and responsible stakeholder in the region. They are asking the people to join hands with the US in their Indo-Pacific venture to reap the ‘economic benefits’ of maritime opportunities in Bay of Bengal. By emphasizing participation in the US Indo-Pacific strategy to bring Bangladesh closer to key trade and investment partners, their pernicious agenda is to hide the threats that this US forum will bring to the sovereignty of the Ummah!

It is already evident that by participating in the US Indo-Pacific strategy Bangladesh will be used as a pawn in the US-China conflict. But the spineless Hasina government is giving US more leeway to make strong presence in our strategic Bay of Bengal. Sheikh Hasina has already agreed to sign defense agreements like General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) and the Acquisition Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) which have been drafted by US with the nefarious purpose of turning Bangladesh into a military base for the US Army, along with holding military training and exercises in the Indo-Pacific region in the name of security cooperation. The fact of the matter is that, the corrupt Hasina government is feeling threatened and afraid of being removed from power by the US. So the Hasina government has surrendered to this evil plan of America and has agreed to join the Indo Pacific Forum to please the colonialist America to remain in power again in the next election. However, she didn’t consider the threats that this initiative will bring to the sovereignty of the Ummah and its terrible geopolitical danger. Besides, she does not care about Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala's strict prohibition of consolidating the dominance of the kafir colonialists over the Ummah as a result of participating in such forums. He (swt) says,

[وَلَنْ يَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا]

“If they have the upper hand of you, they will be your foes, and will stretch out their hands and their tongues toward you with evil (intent), and they long for you to disbelieve” [Al-Mumtahanah: 2].

Rulers like Sheikh Hasina will always use our land, strategic resources and military as fuel in the war of their colonial masters. Because they have no dream of dominating the kafir-mushrik enemies through a strong foreign policy. Their knee-jerk foreign policy has no other purpose but to secure their throne by accepting the hegemony of the imperialist US and its South Asian allies. So, the only way out of this shameful and humiliating situation is to bring back the Islamic world order by establishing the promised Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood which will not allow any imperialist states to use the land, strategic resources and military of Muslims as fuel for their war of supremacy. The Khilafah state will establish itself throughout the world through a strong foreign policy prescribed by Shari'ah. As the Khilafah will usher in the New World Order, it will not accept the pressure of any superpower to be part of any international organization or their military alliances. Rather, it will use China, India and America against each other to destroy the hegemony of America and others globally, including in the region. Allah (swt) says:

[هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ]

“He it is Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushriks hate (it)” [As-Saff: 9].
