Lebanon Bans a Children’s Film that Promotes Homosexuality, Whilst Saudi Arabia Allows Its Screening
(Translate)

News:

The Lebanese Ministry of Culture announced on Wednesday 9 August 2023 that it will work to prevent the screening of the film “Barbie” in Lebanon, because it promotes homosexuality and questions the need for marriage and family. The Lebanese Minister of Culture, Mohammad Wissam Al-Murtada, said in a statement that, “The Barbie film promotes homosexuality and transgenderism. It promotes the rejection of the guardianship of the father, and weakens the role of the mother. The film questions the necessity of marriage and family. Its content violates morals and values, especially family values. It violates the moral and faith principles that constitute the fortified fortress of the Lebanese society.” Mohammed Wissam further stated that, “Showing the film in Lebanon will have disastrous consequences, especially for children and young people.” The Barbie movie is an American film, whose revenues in the West have exceeded one billion dollars, since its release in cinemas on 21 July 2023. Several countries banned the screening of film, including Kuwait, while Saudi Arabia and the UAE agreed to display it in screens, after making some modifications to it, in line with the standards of media content in the two countries. It was then actually screened.

Comment:

It is a suspect that Saudi Arabia, which is the land of the Two Holy Mosques, allows the screening of such films, containing the concepts of homosexuality. It is also noticeable that the application of some minor modifications to the film does not change its perverted content. Modifications do not also change the crooked intended purpose of its American producers, who want to export their homosexuality to Muslims, through the production of such movies for children.

The position of the Lebanese Minister of Culture, who did not start his refusal to show the film from an Islamic standpoint, was closer to the Shariah legal standards than the position of Saudi Arabia, which flouted those standards for ages.

It is a shameful situation that the culture of homosexuality is presented to our children, in the land of the Two Holy Mosques, particularly when the state is the sponsor of this deviant culture.

Where are the Muslim ‘Ulema in Saudi Arabia who must highlight the Shariah rulings related to the Islamic vision in presenting any media content to people in general, and to children in particular?! And what about the obligation that they have to perform permanently, which is to command good and forbid evil, especially in the lands of Najd and Hijaz?!

Is the situation such that the Muslim ‘Ulema are too busy today? Their main concern is instigating intellectual battles, and engaging in mutakallimūn scholastic arguments, close to philosophical sophistry, with their opponents. This idle pursuit is of no benefit for anyone! They waste people’s time with arguments about the long dead thoughts of the mutakallimūn of the 4th century AH, yet want to revive them again!!!
