Sheikh Hasina's Political Adviser H T Imam: Another Shameless Product of the Corrupt Western Liberal Democratic System
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
News:
On November 12, 2014, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Political Affairs Adviser H T Imam said at a program in Dhaka University that if the members of Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL), student wing of the Bangladesh Awami League, pass the written test for recruitments in public services, their party leaders would help them with the oral exam to secure government jobs. He said to the Chatra League activists, "Whenever I take anyone's curriculum vitae to the Prime Minister, or request her to give someone a job, she asks whether the person was involved in BCL politics and also about his or her contribution to politics... We are trying our best to ensure jobs for you... Our leader (Sheikh Hasina) has told us to arrange jobs for you by any means."
Comments:
H T Imam is not only a member of the Advisory Council of the ruling Awami League (AL) but was also the co-chairman of the Awami League's election steering committee of the January 5 elections. His above mentioned remarks have created enormous public uproar because of the position he holds in Bangladesh's political arena. In truth, such deplorable statements are hardly surprising from the carriers of the rotten democratic system. What is even more deplorable is that still some groups of this society with malicious vested interests are trying hard to substantiate the illusion of democracy. We observed various media and civil society personalities, organizations and politicians criticize the remark of H T Imam as unconstitutional and discriminatory which, as per their perception, had stained the spirit of democracy. However, it is obvious that these advocates of democracy in Bangladesh are deliberately avoiding the discussion of the fallacy of democracy, which is the root of all the problems. Rather than dealing with the peripherals and superficial, that is, H T Imam's remarks, it is high time we have a healthy intellectual discourse on the legitimacy of the current democratic ruling system, which gives birth to the transgressors like Hasina who prefers her party boys to common people. As a matter of fact, H T Imam did not say anything unheard of by the people of Bangladesh to catch them by surprise.
The helpless general people of Bangladesh are increasingly becoming cynical towards their selfish democratic politicians. Being disillusioned with Democracy with its pompous and honeyed phrase of "freedom and equality", people are angrier and apathetic towards this manmade ruling system than ever. Apart from some empty rhetoric, modern liberal democracies failed to present anything substantial other than partisan politics, unequal contest and corruption, and the remarks of H T Imam should also be viewed in this context. Since "independence" in 1971, the country's democratic politicians have never been responsive to the citizens. General people have always been pushed out of this system by these politicians who have amassed power and wealth under the auspices of the democratic regimes backed by the West, who endorse the corrupt rulers of the Muslim lands in the name of ‘spreading democracy.'
Oh Muslims of Bangladesh! Hizb ut Tahrir will keep on imploring you by Allah azza wa jal to uproot these western-sponsored democratic governments, which only breed mindless partisan politics and agent rulers. Stretch out your hands to us for establishing the promised Khilafah "Caliphate" to get rid of these oppressing products of Democracy. Otherwise, Allah (swt) will not stop sending His punishment upon us in the form of Hasina and Khaleda to narrow the scope of our livings.
((وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى))
"And whoever turns away from My remembrance, indeed, he will have a meager life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." [Surah Taha: 124]
