The Western Interference in Syria Will Bring Nothing But Another
Cycle of Oppression and Misery to the Syrian People

According to the news published by Al-Jazeera on 19th December, 2015, the UN Security Council unanimously agreed on a draft resolution for peace talks in January and a ceasefire aimed at ending the war in Syria. According to the statement of US Secretary of State John Kerry, the aim of the resolution is to install a transitional government within first six months and paving the way to election within next 18 months. The agreement will exclude ISIL and al-Nusra Front though it does not include the mention of President Assad’s fate or which opposition groups will be included in peace talks. Allah (swt) says in the Quran:

((وَإِذا قيلَ لَهُم لا تُفسِدوا فِي الأَرضِ قالوا إِنَّما نَحنُ مُصلِحونَ أَلا إِنَّهُم هُمُ المُفسِدونَ وَلٰكِن لا يَشعُرونَ))

“And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers. Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not.” [Surah Baqarah: 11-12]

We realize how true the words of Quran are when we ponder upon the current political situation of Syria or these vague UN resolutions and agreements, or the peace talks delivered by the leaders of the West in the name of establishing peace in the world. It is beyond question that the greedy political ideology of the West and their corrupt political leaders are solely responsible for the constant death, destruction and increasing rivalry and conflict in Syria, as with many other places in the Muslim world. The West and their puppet leaders in the Muslim world stood still when the Assad regime committed mass murders, unspeakable crimes, indiscriminate bombing and chemical weapon attacks on innocent Syrian Muslims. During the past five years over 300,000 men, women and children in Syria have lost their lives, tens of thousands became crippled and over 4 million are displaced into neighboring countries.

The truth is, the leaders of the EU, US and Russia are not bothered in the least to stop this deadly war or about the future of Syrian people, rather they are collaborating with the different fighting parties including ISIS, FSA, Assad regime etc. to achieve their covert political agenda in the Middle East. The ultimate goal of the coalition of colonial governments is to snatch away the fruit of this revolution and to derail the sincere Syrian Muslims from their true objective.

Moreover, this resolution is completely detached from the opinions of the Syrian Muslims and the vision that they have for their land and for which they have already made a tremendous sacrifice - to replace the current secular brutal dictatorship with the true leadership of Islam, under the system of righteous Khilafah "Caliphate" upon the method of the Prophethood.

The Muslims of Syria must take heed from the warning of Allah (swt). The track record of western interference in the Muslim lands is a clear proof that foreign interference will bring further misery upon the Syrian Muslims and will create more mischief in the blessed land of al-Sham, and not an ounce of good will come from it. The accountability of the murderer Assad for his countless atrocities against his own people was not even on the discussion table in this meeting. Furthermore, it is evident that after 14 years of US intervention in Afghanistan, western occupation did not end the sufferings of Afghan Muslims. The Muslims of Iraq are paying the high price for the American intervention and their US dictated coalition government brought nothing but further division and rivalry in their country.

Therefore, if the Syrian Muslims let the colonial coalition to determine their political future, and allow another western backed dictator to rule over them, this will undoubtedly bring another cycle of oppression and misery for them and all of their priceless sacrifices will be in vain. Hence, the Syrian Muslims must wholeheartedly reject such resolutions and peace processes organized by Kufr governments and should be determined to achieve their ultimate goal: to live by Islam under the guardianship of a righteous Khalifah.
