Rajab is the Month of the Ummah’s Victories and Glories
(Translated)
By: Ustadh Mahmoud Al-Laithi*

The glad tidings are many, and our hope in Allah is steadfast and unending. We are certain that the changes in days and situation are inevitable, Allah’s Promise is near, and the dawn of the Ummah’s victory is imminent. We are awaiting the call.

Just as Rajab witnessed the downfall of the Islamic state, it also carries days of glory that bring us much hope and remind us that the future belongs to this Ummah. In Rajab, the Battle of Mu'tah took place, the first major battle between the Muslims and the Romans, a battle against the greatest power of kufr at the time, the leading state of its era. In that battle, the Sword of Allah, Khalid ibn al-Walid (ra), withdrew with the 3,000 Muslim fighters in what was a victorious manoevre, against a Roman army nearly 200,000 strong. Despite this, the Muslims were not defeated, and the Romans did not achieve victory.

The month of Rajab also witnessed the liberation of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) at the hands of the victor Salahudin, the vanquisher of the Crusaders, who returned Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa to the embrace of Islam after decades of Crusader occupation. So, who will liberate Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa today and cleanse it from the defilement of the Jews? Who will be the supporter of the Ummah, the liberator of its lands, and the defender of its oppressed, while the entire West has united against the Ummah with all its might and resources?

In Rajab, the Battle of Ain Jalut took place, where the Muslims defeated the Mongols, and halted their devastating advance into the lands of Islam. So, who will stand today against the Mongols of this era and support an Ummah whose people are oppressed and overpowered? The victory of the Ummah is tied to its restoration of authority under Islam and its state, which will reframe priorities, liberate the lands, support the oppressed, purify the sanctities, and drive the kufr West back to its own territory in defeat, if it even has any territory left.

In this month, we also witnessed the conquest of Amorium during the reign of Al-Mu’tasim, when he responded to the plea of a Muslim woman who cried out, “Wa Mu’tasimah!” He marched at the head of a mighty army and achieved a decisive victory. So, who will stand for the thousands of women who are crying out for help today? Who will rise for the women of Sham, who had been oppressed by Assad’s regime, a puppet of America? Who will rise for the women of Iraq, Chechnya, Turkestan, Egypt, and the Blessed Land? Who, other than a new Mu’tasim, will roar in the face of oppressors and refuse to rest until they are victorious?

These achievements are not merely fleeting historical events. Instead, they are testimonies to the ability of the Islamic Ummah to rise from its setbacks, when it adheres to its Iman and unifies behind its sincere leadership.

The Ummah cannot regain its honor unless it first restores its true awareness of its status and mission. We must understand that Islam is not merely individual acts of worship, but a comprehensive system of life, encompassing binding Shariah rulings that must be implemented in themselves to please Allah (swt). By its very nature, Islam governs politics, economics, and society, ensuring the care, security, and well-being of the people under its guidance and the protection of its state.

The Khilafah is the system obligated by Shariah evidence, representing a general leadership for all Muslims in matters of Deen and worldly affairs. Establishing Islam in its proper form is an obligation, as it is the system that preserves the unification of the Ummah, and ensures the implementation of Islam. Without it, the Ummah remains divided and weak. Working to establish it is not merely a dream or a distant hope, but a Shariah obligation that Muslims must unify to fulfill. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said,

«إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ»

“The Imam is a shield behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.”

This month, which reminds us of the Islamic State and its absence, as well as the victories of the Ummah, also calls us to work toward reviving the Ummah once again. This begins with establishing a group that embodies Islam, is fully aware of the issues of its Ummah, and places Islam at the center of its life. This embodiment of Islam is what creates true statesmen and leaders who carry Islam within them and are driven by it to transform reality, equipped with an understanding of Islam, its rulings, and the methods of bringing it to governance and implementing it.

The enemies of Islam have understood that our strength lies in our unification, and in the fact that the Islamic aqeedah serves as the foundation of our thinking and the bond that unifies us. Therefore, they have worked to divide the Ummah, making it dependent on them politically, economically, and culturally. They have also sought to separate it from its Deen and its Shariah rulings, rendering it submissive to their control. Liberating the Ummah from this dependency begins with its return to its aqeedah as a true, ideological bond and making the aqeedah the foundation of its thinking upon which its state is established.

The hoped-for victory, and the desired change cannot be achieved without sincere material support (Nussrah) from the devoted sons of the Ummah in the armies, as they are the Ummah’s strength and shield. These armies consist of our sons and brothers. They are part of the Ummah. We must call upon them to align themselves with their Ummah and work towards its support and victory.

O soldiers of the land of Egypt (al-Kinanah), O descendants of Salah al-Din and the vanquishers of the Mongols, you are accountable before Allah (swt) for supporting your Deen and your Ummah. The Khilafah calls for your support and awaits your aid, for it is a great obligation, a lofty rank, and a significant honor for those who establish it. Would you not love to be the Anssar of the Deen of Allah (swt), as the Ansar were in Madinah? Would you not love for your names to be recorded in the register of Allah (swt) as conquerors and saviors of this Ummah?

Hizb ut Tahrir calls upon you to grant it your Nussrah to establish the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, as it alone is capable of restoring glory and honor to the Ummah.
