The foreign ministers of the R4 and E3 groups held their summit in Istanbul on 23/10/2026 and discussed several regional issues, foremost among them the cause of Palestine, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, developments related to Yemen, and efforts to find a solution to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The R4 group includes Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, while the E3 group includes Britain, Germany, and France, with Italy having joined it.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated, "The Istanbul meetings were more productive than expected. We noted that the situation requires coordination, consensus, and the unified voice of these eight nations, because when we say ‘enough,’ we are speaking here with one voice." He called for “the resumption of Russian and Ukrainian grain shipments given the war's impact on food security,” and highlighted Türkiye’s activity on this issue. He noted that “the conflict between Iran and America cannot be resolved militarily, and the parties must return to the negotiating table.” He mentioned that the next meeting of the Group of Eight will be held in Germany.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated, “Everyone will lose if escalation between Iran and America resumes,” warning of “very serious repercussions on energy prices. Therefore, the first thing the Group of Eight will do is call on both parties to exercise maximum restraint, because we cannot bear a new escalation in the region.” Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, “The goal is to work on de-escalation to ensure freedom of navigation.” The office of British Foreign Minister Miliband stated that Milliband “will advocate for a diplomatic solution to the (Hormuz) crisis that restores full navigational rights and freedoms.”
The Europeans’ statements reveal that they are affected by the war against Iran and do not want it to continue because it harms them greatly, so they are calling for its cessation. They undertook this diplomatic attempt to exert pressure and create public opinion against the war, forming a diplomatic alliance with countries considered influential in the region, such as the R4 group. This group, which operates on America’s behalf, responded. It is inconceivable that it would act against America; rather, America will use it to undermine the Europeans’ efforts or to influence them, since they have appealed to countries that are utterly loyal to it.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that “the meeting addressed the interconnected challenges and conflicts in the Middle East and Europe, and the participants agreed to resolve disputes through dialogue and diplomacy based on regional ownership.”
The R4 group convened and issued a joint statement saying that “‘Israeli’ policies create a deep sense of injustice in global public opinion,” reiterating their call for the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.
Thus, this group revealed through this statement cowardice and humiliation in the face of the Jewish entity’s practices, as if they were strangers to the Palestine issue. They have become cowards before it, not daring to confront it. It appears that America has dictated to them not to lower the ceiling of their condemnations, so they utter feeble words related to a sense of injustice and public opinion! They parrot with their tongues the project of establishing a Palestinian state, which its sponsor, America, no longer cares about, and which has practically become unattainable due to what the Jewish entity is doing in the West Bank with America's implicit approval. For America occasionally issues some statements that do not indicate it is confronting what the Jewish entity is doing.
And in the joint statement with the Europeans, the tone was much softer, as they underlined “the urgent need to address this conflict only through dialogue and diplomacy.”
It is worth noting that the Europeans are not serious towards the Jewish entity; rather, they are as keen on its survival as America is, because they were the first to work towards its establishment to serve as a wedge in the heart of the Muslim lands and as their dirty tool against Muslims, preventing their liberation from the yoke of Western colonialism. German Chancellor Mertz expressed this on 8 July 2026 by saying, “‘Israel’ is doing the dirty work for all of us." However, they have lost much of their influence there in favor of America, which now holds this dirty tool and wields it brutally in the region.
The Europeans have been downgraded, marginalized by America, such that they no longer have any significant influence over the Jewish entity or on Middle Eastern issues, including Iran. Consequently, America proceeded to launch its aggression against Iran alongside the Jewish entity without consulting them or providing any prior information.
It has even marginalized them in global affairs and in their own internal issue, such as Ukraine, where they are a party. It meets with the other party, Russia, to discuss solutions and impose its own resolutions without including them or consulting them.
It has diminished their standing to the point where they have descended to the level of pro-American regional nations like the R4 group. They attempt to bolster their positions and support their demands by aligning with this group. They are unable to play a role that rivals or even competes with America. It previously deprived them of cheap energy resources that came from Russia and has now begun taking these resources to sell back to them at exorbitant prices. It is the same power that deprived them of cheap energy resources from Iran—whether by imposing sanctions on Iran and forcing them to comply, or through its aggression against Iran and the resulting closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Their attempt to bolster their positions by aligning with a pro-American group will not help them significantly. If they were to take strong stances against America—to the extent of confronting its policies and acting independently—they would lift sanctions on Iran and engage with it directly, or take similar actions on other issues. However, it is not expected that they will undertake any serious action against the Jewish entity, since it is a product of their own colonialist policies and sinister objectives; they wish to preserve it regardless of its actions. Their condemnations of what this entity does are merely smoke and mirrors—a deception aimed at placating their domestic public opinion, which is outraged by this evil entity.
Thus, we can describe the G8 summit as unprecedented, because major European powers are resorting to small, pro-American countries to bolster their international positions, and they dare not challenge America and make the small countries align with them.
As for the R4 countries, like other nations in the region, they lack dignity and honor. They serve as America’s delegates and messengers to Iran. Therefore, one cannot expect them to stand up to America, reject European interference, or tell them and America: “This is our region—leave us, we do not want your presence or intervention here.” Nor can one expect them to declare Jihad to liberate Palestine and support its people. Only those who find strength in Islam, adopt it as their ideology, begin implementing it, and carry it to the world will do so. This will inevitably happen when Allah (swt) permits the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood, and He (swt) will not break His promise to those who support His Deen.
