Hizb ut Tahrir Britain Delegation presents Statement regarding Masjid Al-Aqsa to Turkish and Egyptian Embassies
28th July 2017
A delegation of members of Hizb ut Tahrir Britain attended the embassies of Turkey and Egypt to deliver statements of protest regarding the crisis of Masjid al-Aqsa. The delegation members had the opportunity to discuss the issue with embassy staff who expressed their sympathy and concern for the situation in al-Aqsa, but were not able to point to any concrete steps taken by their governments to confront the occupiers.
When one of the diplomatic staff at the Egyptian embassy stated that the removal of security measures was a cause of celebration for the residents of al-Quds, the delegation pointed out that the occupation forces had responded with tear gas and rubber bullets. They also pointed out that the real solution to the issue of Palestine was not removing metal detectors but rather removing the occupation, and ending the military and economic ties that both Egypt and Turkey’s governments have established with the occupier.
