The International Monetary Fund Maintains High Taxation to Ensure Interest Payments

On 6 August, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Federal Board of Revenue to resolve taxation issues concerning real-estate transactions. Deteriorating economic conditions have pushed people away from investment in this sector. The Chairman admitted that under the Stand-by Arrangement with International Monetary Fund, any new tax exemption may not be possible. The Western capital order ensures that the Islamic world is drowning in interest payments. The colonialists then demand increased taxation to pay the interest. The Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will stop all interest payments from day one and focus on strengthening our economy. Allah ﷻ said:

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَذَرُوا مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الرِّبا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ]

“O believers! Fear Allah, and give up outstanding interest if you are true believers.” [TMQ Surah a-Baqarah 278-279]

The US Does not Care About Who Rules as Long as Democracy Remains

On 7 August 2023, the spokesman for the US State Department responded to the arrest of Imran Khan, saying, “We believe that is an internal matter for Pakistan, and we continue to call for the respect of democratic principles.” The US depends on Democracy to control Pakistan, regardless of who rules. Democracy allows the agents of the US to make laws according to the interests of the colonialists. The Khilfah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will end slavery to the colonialists. Every article of the constitution and every law is derived from the Noble Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. The Khilafah’s judiciary can remove the Khaleefah if he flagrantly violates Islam. The Council of the Ummah accounts the rulers regarding their implementation of Islam.

Just like the First Phase, the Second Phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Will Not Change Economic Fortunes

The Prime Minister said on 7 August 2023 that Chinese investment under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) topped $30 billion. He claimed the second phase of the mega project would create more opportunities. However, the first phase did not change the economic fortunes of Pakistan. So how will the second phase result in prosperity? Under the capitalist economic order, every project will only benefit the ruling elite, their cronies and foreign investors. We need the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood that will implement the Islamic economic system. The solutions of Islamic economic system are able to change the fortunes of Pakistan. For centuries, the Khilafah dominated the world’s economy due to implementation of the Islamic Shariah rulings.

US Global Order Ensures Decisions Against the Interests of Muslims

On 7 August 2023, Pakistan issued a ‘Force Majeure and Excusing Event’ notice to Iran, to suspend its contractual obligations, regarding the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project. Pakistan has expressed its inability to pursue the project, as long as US sanctions on Iran remain in place. This project has been in cold storage for almost a decade, despite energy shortages in Pakistan. The current global political and economic order, headed by the US, does not allow minor states to take decisions, as per their own interests. We must reject this US order and make an alternate global Islamic order, by establishing Khilafah in Pakistan, and unifying Muslim lands. The Khilafah will be a superpower so we can realize our true economic potential.

Establish the Khilafah for Real Independence from Colonialism

On 14 August 1947, Pakistan was established in the name of independence. However, successive governments have created such a bad situation that many people are leaving Pakistan. Democracy allows the Western governments to determine every major policy. It is the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood that will close the doors of slavery to the West. The Khilafah ensures that the Noble Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah determine the constitution, the laws and the policies. Allah ﷻ said,

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ]

"O you who believe! Respond to Allah ﷻ and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life." [TMQ Surah al Anfaal 8:24]

Only the Khilafah (Caliphate) Can Restore the Security Structure of the Tribes

After intense attacks on the armed forces of Pakistan in the tribal regions, many delegations of the Government of Pakistan have returned from Kabul, without success. Despite twenty major operations, hundreds of intelligence-based operations and dozens of attempts to “break the back” of tribal fighters, the situation has worsened. Every day both our troops and our tribal people are being killed. No one at the state level has any permanent solution to this problem. The current policy for the tribal areas is based on American dictations, which collide with our ground realities. These tribes have only ever submitted to Islam and its authority, the Khilafah. It is only through the Khilafah that the tribal regions will not only become peaceful, they will become a strong power for Islam!

Whilst the Ruling Elite is Arguing About the Caretaker Prime Minister, Muslims are Fleeing Pakistan

On 11 August 2023, the appointing of the caretaker Prime Minister took place. As for the Muslims, they are voting with their feet. The main discussion now is how to leave the country because of the severe economic hardship. In 2021, about 225,00 people left the country. In 2022, 765,000 left, including 92,000 highly educated professionals such as doctors, engineers, information technology experts and accountants. In 2023, 200,000 left in the first three months alone. We are losing the most capable people who can lead us for real change. They spend huge amounts to escape or risk their lives in the seas. They face new dangers to the Deen of their children in the West. Without the implementation of Islam, we are in misery. We must work for the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood now.
