Person involved in Hizb ut-Tahrir case had heart attack in pre-trial detention center, - lawyer
The health status of the Crimean Tatar activist Shaban Umerov, who is the defendant in the second Simferopol "Hizb ut-Tahrir case," has deteriorated significantly. The human rights organization Crimean Solidarity on Facebook reported that with reference to lawyer Nazim Sheikhmambetov.
According to the lawyer, political prisoner Umerov has his state of health significantly deteriorated due to problems that worsened in the conditions of the pre-trial detention center. The day before, he had a severe heart-attack in a pre-trial detention center.
“In the pre-trial detention center, he has been experiencing pain in the heart and burning for a long time; this is accompanied by headaches, drying out of his mouth, chills, and difficulty breathing. A few weeks ago he had quite a serious attack. Thanks to his cellmates he managed to recover his condition a bit, that is, get out of a critical situation," Sheikhmambetov said.
The lawyer noted that a statement was sent to the head of the medical unit of the SIZO on the provision of the necessary medical care to Umerov.
As we reported, the health of Crimean Tatar Dzhemil Gafarov who was illegally imprisoned has critically deteriorated.
