Protest in front of the Premises of the Justice Dept in Ankara

Members and supporters of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey held a protest in front of the premises of Justice Dept in Ankara within the major campaign "Say STOP to the Judicial Persecutions against Hizb ut Tahrir" launched by the Hizb in the Wilayah of Turkey since September to lift the injustice of 500 members of Hizb ut Tahrir, who were subjected to injustice from the Turkish judiciary directed by the unjust regime that has continued to come down on the Hizb's Shabab with politicized unfair unjust provisions surpassing 1828 years in an attempt to extinguish the light of Allah. Alhamdulilah an extensive number of news agencies, media and journalists attended the protest, and a press statement was read by Mr. Mohamed Hanafi Uygmor.

Stand in front of Ankara Police Headquarters in response to the arrest of Hizb Shabab

Along the lines of what happened Sunday 11/09/2014 from the arrest of six Hizb ut Tahrir members for having placed a table to collect signatures as part of the campaign "Say STOP to the Judicial Persecutions against Hizb ut Tahrir" launched by the Hizb in the Wilayah of Turkey since September to lift the injustice against over 500 hundred Muslims in Turkey have been given a collective sentence of about 1,828 years for working with Hizb ut Tahrir in the struggle to re-establish the Khilafah "Caliphate".

Sunday 9 November 2014 in Ankara's Keçiören district six members of Hizb ut Tahrir has been taken into custody. After Sunday 16 November 2014 another two members were taken into custody in Demetevler connected to the district of Ankara's Yeni Mahalle. Ebced Korkmaz and Kadir Yıldırım were taken afternoon by the police for opening a signature stand.

For the purpose to support these detained people, Another guy took pictures in front of the Ankara Police Department, just because taking a picture, he was also taken into custody without being warned by police officers.

Social media raised awarness to this event and led the families and close friends of the detained to gather in front of the Ankara Police department. In the wake of increasing crowd in front of the guardhouse, the police officials released the two members. After the intensive support of the public and the prosecution testomony, the two who were detained for opening a signature stand "Ebced Korkmaz" and "Kadir Yıldırım" have been released. As a result of the pressure exerted on the Attorney General by moving public opinion and civil society institutions. Alhamdulilah for the release of the three brothers.

Picket in front of the police station where it held 6 members of Hizb ut Tahrir

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey ran an awareness campaign in September 18-30 2014 entitled, "Say STOP to the Judicial Persecutions against Hizb ut Tahrir". The campaign attracted the support and voices of many Muslims both in Turkey and from other parts of the globe. Due to the scale of support that was received, a petition was organised as part of the second phase of the awareness campaign.

On the 9th of November, 6 members of Hizb ut Tahrir were detained by police officers following the running of a petition stall in Keçiören, Ankara. Serdar Kaya, Ahmet Sivren, Ahmet Kaygusuz, Nazif Kuzu, Abdurrahim Baser and Kenan Altay were detained without charge. Following the incident, the families of the men, along with the compassionate Muslims of Keçiören, gathered in protest in front of the local police station. Despite the absence of any tangible evidence, the police officers then transferred the case of the detained men to be dealt with by anti-terrorism officials. The families and local protesters refused to leave the site until the case was heard and the men were freed. At 10:45pm, our 6 brothers were released from custody. The families and the supportive crowd greeted the brothers with applause and takbiraat.

Over 500 hundred Muslims in Turkey have been given a collective sentence of about 1,828 years for working with Hizb ut Tahrir in the struggle to re-establish the Khilafah "Caliphate". This recent incident is a symptom of the continuing persecution directed at Hizb ut Tahrir by Turkey. Hizb ut Tahrir will never cease to participate in da'wah and will continue to work for its objective - the reestablishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" ar-Rashida.

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey Held a Press Conference in Istanbul

The participants of the press conference were: Mahmut KAR, Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Turkey; Hasan SABAZ, writer at Doğru Haber Gazetesi and as representative of Mustazaflar Cemiyeti (Society of The Opressed); Lawyer Hasan ÖLÇER; Murat ÖZER, President of Imkan-Der; Lawyer Kaya KARTAL, Assistant of General Secretary of Mazlum-Der; Lawyer Necip KİBAR; Mehmet ŞAHİN, Chairman of the Akincies Association in Fatih/Istanbul; Mustafa ŞATIROĞLU as President of the Istanbul Thinking Institute; Cüneyt SARIYAŞAR as Istanbul Branch President of Mazlum-Der.

Mahmut Kar, Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Turkey in the name of Hizb ut Tahrir, the representatives of the participating NGO's and the lawyers gave their reviews for Turkey's unlawful proceedings especially against Hizb ut Tahrir and generally against all Muslims.

Mahmut Kar summarized the unlawful practises in the trials against Hizb ut Tahrir spanning from the year of 1960 until today. He said further, that in the so-called democratisation and expanding of the freedoms in Turkey that this process ran backwards for the members of Hizb ut Tahrir. So that while being punished with 6 months for membership of Hizb ut Tahrir in the year of 1960, the punishment multiplied 15 times and is now seven and a half years for just being a member of Hizb ut Tahrir.

Mahmut Kar gave the following important information:

"Hizb ut Tahrir is a globally established Islamic political party, working in more than 50 countries. It is working for the establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashidah to rule all Muslims by what Allah (swt) has revealed and unify them once again under the leadership of one ruler, as the Islamic Ummah lived for centuries and to carry the Islamic Dawah as a light and guidance to the whole of the world."

"Hizb ut Tahrir does not adopt a top-down method; in contrary it works within the Ummah and together with it to gain the support and the leadership for this aim. Its work is only ideological and political and it certainly never adopts armed actions. Friends and enemies all over the world know of these fixed principles of Hizb ut Tahrir for the past 60 years. Those who accuse Hizb ut Tahrir in Turkey of being a terroristic organisation and its members of being terrorists and then punish them with these justifications are fully aware of these principles. They see better than anyone else that these forced invented and imposed claims are nothing more than lies. Therefore, these judgments are politically oriented rather than juristically."

Murat Özer, President of Imkan-Der, stated, Hizb ut Tahrir has been founded by the scholar Taqiuddin al-Nabhani (Rahimehullah) 61 years ago and it is a political movement which has been working for long years to reunify the divided Ummah again under the power of the Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashida. While Özer highlighted that Hizb ut Tahrir is only banned in dictatorial countries and is not banned in many countries, he questioned how it could be banned in Turkey and how the members could be persecuted and sentenced to prison for their political work. Murat Özer reminded also, that Hizb ut Tahrir is the essence of 1400 years of Islamic history and also of the Anatolian lands; and therefore no one can accuse Hizb ut Tahrir to be extraneous for Turkey. Özer said, instead of expecting the change of Hizb ut Tahrir, it is the constitution of Turkey that has to be changed.

The common message of all participants was the call for the immediate release of all imprisoned members of Hizb ut Tahrir and all political activist Muslims in Turkey.
