Regarding Bombing at Bethel Church, Solo

As massively reported, a suicide bombing exploded at the Bethel Church on the Sunday of September 25 around 11 pm. The explosion caused tens of Jemaat injuries and one death, suspected as the bomber.

Whoever the perpetrator and whatever the motive, this bombing must be condemned. This heinous act is completely contradictive to the teachings of Islam. Clearly, Islam forbids Muslims to hurt and kill anyone without a Sharai' reason moreover the act causes the death of its perpetrator.

There are many possibilities regarding the bombing. The purpose of this bombing is probably to incite clashes amongst society. It could also be a conditioning and situating before the ratification of Intelligence Bill.  As a result of this accident, anyone will claim that the Intelligence Law is necessary and urgent to give wide authority to the Intelligence Agencies to anticipate the same accident may happen again in the future.

Respecting the above, Hizbut Tahrir of Indonesia:

1. Strictly condemns the suicide bombing as a heinous act that is contradictive to Islamic teaching.

2. Calls upon all authorized parties for a thorough investigation to reveal the real perpetrator and motivation including the mastermind behind this heinous act to end all speculations around this bombing.

3. Refuses to link this bombing to the interest of ratification of The Intelligence Bill.  Because the Bill has the potential to arouse danger for people and the Muslim Ummah in particular, as seen during the New Era Regime in the past.

4. Calls all Muslim Ummah to remain solid, patient and consistent in working for establishment of Shariah and Khilafah "Caliphate". Never fear to face challenges and obstacles in achieving our noble ideal; the establishment Shariah and Khilafah "Caliphate".
