STATEMENT OF HIZB UT TAHRIR INDONESIA
CONDEMN BURNING OF AL QURAN

Again, controversial Pastor of Dove Church World Outreach Center, Florida, AS, Terry Jones, burned Quran on Sunday 29th of April. Last year, 20th of March 2011, the Pastor Assistant of Dove Church World Outreach Center, Wayne Sapp infuriated Muslims around the world by burning Quran and spreading it through internet.

Regarding to this, Hizbut Tahrir in Indonesia is performing rally in front of US Embassy and stating:

1. Condemn this heinous act. It is really uncivilized act. It is really insulting and humbling the honor, the majesty and the holiness of Al Quran. This means also an insult to Islam and the Muslims around the world.

2. Burning of Al Quran indicates failure of the U.S. government in protecting the honor of religion (Islam) and its holy book. It also shows false of the doctrine of respect and protection of human rights. The burning of Koran and other facts in various places both inside and outside the U.S. are indicating human rights doctrine is only applied to things those are not related to Islam and Muslims. But when the victims are Muslims, like the case of burning Al Quran, the U.S. government is passive, and even tending to let. It was proved when the police didn't rush to prevent the act to burn Al Quran while they were there.

3. On the other hand, this incident also shows the weakness of Muslims although they are in huge numbers. Without the unity, 1.5 billion Muslims are very weak and unable to protect the honor of Islam, including protecting its holy book from defamation. Therefore, this event should further spur the spirit and seriousness of all Muslims to truly fight for the enforcement of sharia and Khilafah "Caliphate". Because only Khilafah "Caliphate" can unite Moslems. Then, they will have power to protect the dignity of Islam including protecting the honor of al Quran from heinous attack like what the crazy pastor did in Florida, US. And when the Caliphate is not upright yet, the defense should have come from the rulers in Muslim countries who work for the defense of the interests of Islam and Muslims. They should be shields of Islam and Moslems as the Messenger saw said" "An imam (ruler / head of state) is like a shield" (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim). Without it, Kuffar will always attack and insult the dignity of Islam and its Ummah.
