Press Release
Blocking and Opening Roads as a Political Pressure Tool Used by Contenders Regardless of the Suffering of the People of Yemen
(Translated)
Local media was abuzz yesterday, Friday, June 7, 2024, with the news of the announcement by the Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, and the military committee about the opening of two roads to the city of Taiz starting today. This comes in implementation of what he called the directives of the leader of the revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council. Al-Masawi clarified that the first main road is Hoban - Qasr Al-Shaab - Al-Kamb, designated for travelers and light transport vehicles, and the second road is Al-Sittin - Al-Khamsin - Madinat Al-Noor - Bir Basha, designated for heavy and medium transport trucks.
Unexpectedly, the Houthis announced the opening of the Taiz Road from the Hoban side after more than nine years of closure. During this time, people were forced to take alternative, rough, and long routes, resulting in the loss of lives and money due to their roughness. What exacerbates their suffering are the security checkpoints set up by the warring factions that humiliate people, rob them of their money, and disrupts their peace. Proposals and initiatives to open blocked roads in Yemen have been launched for a long time, but have not been positively responded to because neither side of the war fears Allah, but they fear losing military positions between them and follow the directives of their infidel masters. This has made them refrain from alleviating the suffering of the people they claim to be fighting for!
The Houthis have opened the main Hoban road for passengers and another road for heavy cargo trucks in the blink of an eye and without prior notice, despite previously entering into shuttle negotiations and refusing to open this road. So why now? And why this timing? Or do they want to respond to the decisions of the Aden Bank by opening the road to whitewash their tarnished image in front of the people and put the ball in the court of what is called the legitimacy? Because the Houthis have always been in the attacking position and their opponents in the defensive position, and after the recent bank decisions, the Houthis have been dealt a knockout blow.
The people of Yemen must understand that the opening of the routes is not intended to alleviate your suffering, but rather serves as a political pressure tool. The contenders do not care about you or your suffering. You have followed and seen with your own eyes that the opening of one of the most important roads, closed since the start of the war, was accomplished in a few minutes. The suffering of the sick and the elderly for nearly a decade did not move them at all; neither religious nor even humanitarian feelings. Worse yet, the blood that was shed over the closure of this road and other roads was ignored. Do you still have any doubt or uncertainty in your hearts that your rulers are against you and not for you, and that you are merely a number in their conflict, nothing more?
Have you realized that there is no care, no responsibility, no preservation of Muslim blood, and no cutting off the hand of the infidel (kafir) colonizer except under the rule of Islam in the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) State following the method of the Prophethood that applies Allah's law on earth, which has been absent for more than a hundred years? So do not hesitate to join the ranks of the sincere to attain the best of this world and the Hereafter.
“This [Qur'an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.” [Ibrahim:52].
