Ramadan Series Heroic Stance: People of the Cave or Ahl Al-Kahf

Individuals who had a positive impact in changing the course of events, and set an example for many members of the Islamic Ummah.

A group of individuals that can be truly attributed for their heroic stance are the people of the Cave or known as Ahl Al- Kahf.

(أَمۡ حَسِبۡتَ أَنَّ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡكَهۡفِ وَٱلرَّقِيمِ كَانُواْ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا عَجَبًا * إِذْ أَوَى الْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى الْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا)

“Or do you think that the People of the Cave and the Inscription were of Our wonderful signs? ” * “When the youths sought refuge in a cave, they said, “Our Lord! grant us mercy from Thee, and provide for us a right course in our affair” [Surah Al-Kahf: Aya 9 * 10]

These individuals believed in the message of worshipping one God and abandoned the idol worship. At that time anyone seen worshipping anything else except the idols were persecuted, tortured, which often led to death. These individuals were among the young ones to believe in the message of worshipping one God. They challenged these tyrants in their tyranny and showed courage by carrying the call to believe in one God.

SubhanAllah, Allah (swt) protected the people of the Cave from a tyrannical king by them entering a cave and causing them to sleep for more than 300 years. At that time these young individuals did not fear anyone except Allah (swt) and relied upon Him and only Him (swt) for protection, which was indeed done. Youth these days should voice their voices in what is going on in the Blessed Land of Palestine and its only solution is for the Muslim Armies to rid the Muslim Ummah from this occupation and not by going to negotiating tables with the west. Youth should take a stand against the lifestyle of LGBQT that is now infiltrating the minds of the young children in order for them to be accepted or embedded in their minds that it is their choice and who are we to judge! Our youth should take the opportunity to learn about the people of the Cave and take them as their role models not the current celebrities or social media influencers.
