Saudi Arabia is at a turning point in its history, as it strives to return to the times of Jahiliyyah through a lewd and corrupt culture never before seen to this extent in the land. The Saudi government means to eradicate the spiritual meanings behind the sacred Kaaba, the Masjid al-Haram, the Masjid an Nabawi where our beloved Prophet (saw) is buried, and the areas where he (saw) and the sahaba (ra) sacrificed their blood and lives to establish the authority of Islam.

Saudi Arabia has descended way beyond the pre-Islamic era of ignorance, to a new and almost unbelievable chapter of political and social decay. The Saudis’ betrayal towards the Islamic State in 1727, was the outcome of the alliance between tribal leader Muhammad bin Saud and Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Their religious doctrine referred to as Wahhabi Islam weaponised the deen of Islam as a force to facilitate the long term agenda of the British colonial project in the region, thus creating a deformed version of an Islamic authority based on the west's own nation state model.

The Wahabi doctrine permitted what is impermissible in Islam by establishing a monarchical system of governance, dictatorial in its nature, and one that was cleverly devoid of the accountability and transparency that the western nations themselves believed in and somewhat enjoyed. Rather Wahabism was and still is oppressive and harsh - rewriting the diversity of the Muslims, and our rich cultural and scholarly traditions of the 1400 year old Islamic civilisation that stretched and thrived from Morocco to Indonesia.

Instead Wahabism sought to introduce false principles of governance and a selective implementation of Islam! - wholly neglecting to uphold the Ahkam Sharia by way of establishing the holistic Deen upon the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (saw). Total allegiance and blind obedience to the rulers and so called ‘royal family’ was spun by these fork tongued despots, so that even the open kufr of the rulers remains beyond accountability.

Now, fast forward to the present day.

Wahhabism is on its way out - instead the Saudis, under the tyrannical personality of Muhammed Bin Salman now celebrate the disaster that occured in 1727, by making an official holiday which is called ‘Founding Day’. A day when they commemorate the region as the start of the Saudi State, with a new national anthem and possibly even a new flag to mark this radical change in Saudi state culture. In line with his personal agenda of what is best for the land, Muhammed bin Salman (MBS) also has big plans to not only modernize Saudi Arabia, but make parts of it a global hub for cutting edge AI (artificial intelligence) technology within less than ten years. This despite the abject poverty most citizens still endure in this oil rich nation.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the Saudi government has now officially glorified Jahiliyah! In the last two years the government has organized public events that include western style live open air concerts and air shows - with strobe lights and blaring music - where dancing and free mixing is the new normal, and bars where the difference between alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks is almost impossible to distinguish.

Likewise, Saudi influencers are free to openly behave in a vulgar manner, no different to the worst of what the west has produced. Men and women covered in gold and wearing transparent veils, use social media to further the celebrations and fahisha. Being proud of the Jahiliyyah (ignorance) they spread.

Uthman bin Affan RA is reported to have said, “The Sultan will straighten what the community could not change”. Meaning that if there is unislamic behaviour within a society, the sincere and just leader, via the correct implementation of Islam, can at least reach the hearts and minds of the population through education about haram and halal and by highlighting the consequences of disobedience.

Saudi citizens are no more corrupt than any other Muslim community, but they are truly unfortunate, because with such despicable rulers who are literally forcing all manner of liberal freedoms upon their own people, the fahisha that comes with these behaviours is inevitable. The Saudi leadership is responsible for destroying the social fabric of its own society, and is wholly responsible for fighting Allah - by making the haram into halal!

Allah swt says in the Quran...

(اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ وَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا مُّهِيْنًا )

“Those who abuse Allah & His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world & the Hereafter & prepared for them a humiliating punishment” [Surah al Ahzab v 57]

Only the Khilafah based on the method of the Prophethood will uplift individuals and communities - societies and states, to the level that Allah swt desired us to live by.

So until the Islamic Khilafah remains absent we will continue to see corruption grow and evolve into ever more ugly and fanatical behaviors by the so called Muslim rulers. This should be a reminder of the urgent need to work for the establishment of the promised Khilafah on the way of the Prophethood.

The Prophet (saw) said,

«لَتُنْقَضَنَّ عُرَى الإِسْلَامِ عُرْوَةً عُرْوَةً، فَكُلَّمَا انْتَقَضَتْ عُرْوَةٌ تَشَبَّثَ النَّاسُ بِالَّتِي تَلِيهَا، فَأَوَّلُهُنَّ نَقْضاً الْحُكْمُ، وَآخِرُهُنَّ الصَّلَاةُ»

“The knots of Islam will be undone one by one, each time a knot is undone the next one will be grasped, the first to be undone will be the Ruling and the last will be Prayer.” [Hakim, Ahmed]
