News Right Now: The Humiliated
As if the rulers of the Muslims couldn’t disappoint us anymore, Turkey’s President Erdogan has proved otherwise by meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu of the Zionist entity. However, although this may seem shocking, it is actually wholly consistent with Erdogan’s hypocrisy. On the one hand he claims to uphold Islam, winning this year’s general elections and continuing his 21-year legacy through a series of soundbites, intended to provoke Islamic sentiments within the Turkish people. Likewise, his use of photo opportunities is regularly used to prove his attachment to the recitation of the Quran, and his disingenuous commitment to restoring Turkey’s Islamic heritage is used to his advantage, when in reality it's more about boosting tourism.
What speaks for itself are his promises of opposition towards Islamophobic nations such as Sweden for its recent Quran burning exercises, or towards Burma for its annihilation of the Rohingya people and the shallow sentiments he always uses to express concern for millions of oppressed Muslims in India, Kashmir and Ash Sham. These are all fake, baseless words which have been proven time and again to never result in any practical steps or the necessary measures for the harm to be lifted.
As well as this, Erdogan’s nefarious intentions have long been to serve multiple players in the Middle East and are obvious from his ghastly entanglements with the US, Russia, Assad’s militia against the freedom fighters, and even the notorious Wagner, in their elicit role in Libya’s recent power play.
So does anyone still believe this man is a mujaddid and savior of Palestine and the Ummah?
What exactly has he done to reinforce this idea? Where is the proof that he intends to liberate Al Quds, where is the action? or indeed where are the truthful words that reveal any intention to step in and liberate the people from harm, and the land from the clutches of the Zionist filth that claim it whilst they destroy it?
Last week Erdogan attended a four-day fence-mending mission at the UN in New York, meeting US officials, regional players and the NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg to whom he said, "We will remain one of the most active supporters of NATO missions." However, even more repugnant than this was his meeting with the leader of the Zionist entity Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he promised to re-establish bilateral relations that had been severed in 2016 over the killing of dozens of Palestinians who took part in protests in Gaza. He brazenly stated that the two countries would also operate energy networks to Europe through Turkey, and agreed on mutual visits in the coming period, and that energy cooperation would ramp up after these. "God willing, we will take this step without much delay, and we will start energy drilling operations with Israel. We will also start operating energy transfer networks to Europe through Turkey, not just to Turkey”.
He shamelessly even told journalists that he supports the recent US-brokered attempts to normalize ties between the Zionist state and Saudi Arabia. According to an unnamed source in Reuters, Erdogan told reporters, "Turkey views the normalization attempts between the two countries positively”. However, we should ask ourselves why Erdogan is acting as though the intended ministries, to increase cooperation in energy, tourism, and technology are something new!
The fact is that Turkey’s military and economic cooperation with the Zionist entity dates back to 1996 in which two defense cooperation agreements were signed. Though the contents of these two agreements remain secret, they are believed to include protocols regarding officer exchanges, visits by military delegations, naval port calls, access to training areas, joint air and naval training, cooperation in the areas of counterterrorism and border security, and defense industrial cooperation. In addition, the Zionist entity and Turkey are believed to have strengthened long-standing intelligence ties.
These contracts include a $650 million deal for the Zionist’s Aircraft Industries to refurbish and upgrade air to ground missiles, a fleet of F-5 fighter aircraft and M60 tanks. As well as joint intelligence and training exercises, it had been said that “no country sees itself more directly affected by the emerging Israeli-Turkish military axis than Syria”. Aside from this, Turkey's economic ties with the Zionist state has spanned decades and Turkey’s Exports to the Zionist entity were US$7.03 Billion during 2022. Millions of dollars’ worth of iron, steel, copper, plastics, vehicles, machinery, precious stones, clothing, furniture, shoes, clothing, jewelry, fruit, meat, fish and almost everything else is exported to the Zionist state - and Turkey is the recipient of $1.3B of refined petroleum, $220M of scrap Iron and $87.3M of propylene polymers.
These staggering realities are yet more proof that Erdogan and his faux system are nothing but obstacles in the way of the dignity and liberation of the Muslims lands. Instead of assisting the Muslims to free themselves from the historic shackles of imperialism and the unjust policies of the global institutions, Turkey is wholly embedded within the same nefarious system; and like the pied piper Erdogan is leading the Muslims to blindly follow and accept their ways.
Allah (swt) reminds us,
“But whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and exceeds their limits will be cast into Hell, to stay there forever. And they will suffer a humiliating punishment.” [Surah: 4-Aya: 14]
