Dawah around the World: Hizb ut Tahrir Britain Youth Campaign

Welcome to today’s episode of Dawah Around the World - Hizb ut Tahrir Britain- Youth Campaign.

During the course of the school holidays of summer 2018 – the months of July and August -Hizb ut Tahrir Britain launched a much needed campaign entitled ‘If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything’. With over 3 million Muslims in the UK, with approximately 1 million in London alone, there was a shocking finding that the Muslim youth amongst this population are harmed dangerously by the social ills in this individualistic secular society.

Brother Shahid, a young brother active in this campaign, explained...

However, this has affected the Muslim community immensely! The Muslim prison population is a whopping 13.1%, when the proportion of Muslims in the UK is approximately just 5%!! This proves that the Muslims in living in Britain, especially the youth, have fallen victim to the western values that the Kufr system not only breeds but FORCES them to adopt!- because these corrupt liberal concepts are glorified in the way of rich celebrities, drugs and gang culture! They are all rampant in the popular culture of western society and our youth are encouraged to embrace these. So we see it’s a real struggle for the youth where there is a HUGE need to help protect them and remind them of their true purpose of life.

Therefore, the shahbab of Hizb ut Tahrir organised a roadshow where they travelled around key areas in the UK and engaged with the youth in these discussions. There was posters, leaflets, t-shirts and lots more to aid the success of this campaign. Brother Shahid explained further...

The youth are such an important segment in a society – this is clearly illustrated in the seerah. Just as Muhammad SAW targeted the young men of Mecca, this society too targets young Muslims, as it is understood that they will one day become the influential in society. Therefore to give our youngsters the attention and understanding of Islam is absolutely crucial and imperative! Brother Ghassam summarised the message of the campaign with the following words...

We Pray Allah SWT guides our youth to stand for nothing but the truth of Islam and protects them from falling for the unworthy materials of the dunya. Ameen
