On Dec 18-21 Malaysia hosted the 2019 Kuala Lumpur Summit. It was stated that the summit would be a forum where heads of state and government of Muslim nations would give their views on the pertinent issues that should concern the Muslim world. President Mahathir, the host, said the Kuala Lumpur summit was aimed at understanding why Islam, Muslims and their countries were “in a state of crisis, helpless and unworthy of this great religion”.

Despite its agenda and tall claims, the fact that this summit side-stepped the OIC, to sit and discuss issues shows that the meetings of the Muslim leaders amount to very little action and alot of talk. Only 20 out of 57 nations attended. Even if they all came, it is the same criminal leaders who are the cause of the ummah’s grievances. These rulers talk about economic progress but see the wealth that Allah has bestowed upon the ummah as a personal asset. Whilst the muslims of China face geneocide they continue to make deals with China. A notable absentee, Imran Khan of Pakistan opens up pakistan to trade with china and claims he is unaware of the plight of the Uighurs. He is not alone is supporting China and remaining silent. China’s trade is growing despite its harsh hand.

Speaking of the oppression of Palestine, it is Erdogan who despite threatening to stop relations with the Zionist entity after the recogntion of Jerusalem as its capital by the US has not made the move. He and others are fully in line with the two state solution, which legitimises the Zinoist entity and ignores the theft of Muslim land. It was also this year we saw that whilst Kashmir is under seige, Modi of India welcomed by Muslim rulers and realtions with India not become tense or sour. Even though the Muslims in both Kashmir and India face the tyrany of the Hindu rulers, Muslim leaders do not even now use words to condemn!

As an Ummah we have been living under tyrannical and secular rulers who are implementing the system inherited from their colonial masters. These rulers have neglected the Islamic ruling system, the Islamic Economic System, the Islamic Social System, the Islamic Punishment System, the Islamic Foreign and Education policies. They do not care about us; they only care about themselves, their elite groups and serving their colonial masters.

They are the root cause of all the problems faced by this Ummah, and this is no secret, yet they declare to the world that they gather to solve the Ummah’s problems! Whilst this summit was intended to talk about the problems and put forward solutions, meetings and speeches fail as they only skim over issues.

We as an Ummah are awakened and know that the problem is the current rulers. We are also aware that the status quo needs to change. Unity of Muslims in a complete sense, under the islamic Caliphate (Khilafah) alone will serve as a guardian and a shield that functions to protect and safeguard them.

The Khaleefah is the protector of Islam and the Islamic Ummah. Rasullallah u said:

«السُّلطانُ ظِلُّ اللَّهِ في الأرضِ يأوي إليْهِ كلُّ ضعيفٍ وملهوفٍ»

“The Sultan is the shadow of Allah on earth; all of the weak and oppressed takes refuge in that shadow.”

Anyone calling for the unity of the Ummah, has to implement the Islamic way of life through the khilafah (righteous Caliphate). It is a duty upon us all to call for this as the actual solution to the problems we face as an Ummah and not fall for the empty word and hot air of useless summits.
