News Right Now: The Proper Response

France’s President Macron had the audacity to directly attack Islam, by making a statement saying Islam is in ‘crisis’ earlier this October. At a time where Muslims are recognizing more and more how Islam is the only solution to their personal and collective problems and where western societies are falling apart in every possible way.

Following this statement along with the re-publication of offensive caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (saw) by Charile Hebdo, Muslims in France and globally are under direct provocation.

France and all the Western nations are on one side and all stand shoulder to shoulder to attack Islamic sentiments and belief.

At the same time, we see Muslims have had enough. In the month of Rabi al Awwal Muslims globally seek to increase their remembrance of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) through reflections on his life and his sacrifice for the Ummah. The love and devotion to the legacy of the best of mankind has been further increased this year when the Prophet has been attacked by France's arrogance.

It is a sign of the love and devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (saw) that the Ummah responded with calls to boycott French goods, hold protests as well share social media posts highlighting the hypocrisy and histroical inaccuracies of Macron’s speech as well as calling France out for her crimes against the world as a coloniser and leech like entity.

This response is rooted in the belief of a Muslim. The love of Muhammad (saw) is to be more than the love one has for themselves, their families and any other human being. This love was exemplified in the sababah, the companions of the Prophet (saw) and in each generation since and till today, the love and devotion to the Messenger of Allah is evident.

While individuals decided to make choices and boycott French products, shop keepers prepared to bare a loss in their own revenue, and hundreds of muslims protested as seen on the streets of Bangladesh, Palestine, Bhopal in india and many muslim countries...the rulers of the Muslims did their usual acts of condemnations, silence or statements that absolve them of any real duty.

The government of Bangladesh remained silent. Bangladesh exports goods worth $1.7 billion to France, making France its fourth biggest export market after the USA, Germany and the UK.

Pakistan's parliament condemned the cartoons as did Saudi, Chechnya, Jordan, Egypt and Malaysia but all stopped short of clear actions against France.

French companies still have investments in Muslim lands, from cement to energy, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. No Muslim government to date has made any decision affecting the economic or strategic advantage France enjoys to the expense of the Muslim Ummah.

Despite the spineless leadership enforced upon the Ummah, Muslims across the globe are realizing more and more that the Islamic system is the ONLY protection against France’s arrogance and aggression towards the Prophet (saw), Islam and Muslims. Also Muslims realise that the Muslim goverments are useless and will do nothing of meaning or worth!

Even when the Caliphate (Khilafah) was in its decline and the leader of the Muslims knew his duty, France and Britain's arrogance was halted.

In the late 1800’s, when Sultan Abdul Hamid the Second learnt of a comedy play about Muhammad (saw) to be performed in France, he issued a strong warning to France which they understood as a declaration of war. This led to the cancellation of the play AND the French government became so fearful they exiled many of the actors to England.

After some time, learning that the same play was to be performed in London, Sultan Abdul Hameed sent a letter to London to put a stop to the mockery. The response from Britain came back, ‘This is not France, we have freedoms in our borders”.

Sultan Abdul Hameed responded aggressively and decisively, “My ancestors gave their lives without hesitation for the sake and success of Islam. in this vein, I will decively prepare an order to the entire worldwide Muslim nation (the Ummah) and inform them of your continued haughty attitude and persistence in allowing this disrespectful play to contine. You must now consider what will be the outcome of this order!”

The words of Sultan Abdul Hameed and the reputation of the Ummah were enough to put a stop to Britain's action.

Today we see the Ummah is angry , upset and willing to do everything to uphold the honour of the Prophet (saw) and stand for Islam. The rulers on the other hand are the obstacle to any change we wish for ourselves.

Muslims have collective military might, resources and strategic land and waterways. France and the Western nations know this and they attack ‘political islam’ knowing that political islam is in the minds of individual Muslims and not in the minds of the Muslim rulers. Had the rulers of the

Muslims had the sense of the might and power of Islam rather than the love for their Western masters they would have used all their resources and actual advantage to overpower France and put a complete stop to France’s arrogance and aggression.

The honour of Muslims and Islam, the honour of the Prophet (saw) and the protection for us can only come when Islam is established as an authority, with the return of the Khilafah, Caliphate on the method of the prophethood.
