It was a day that brought more than a century of despair. On the 28th of Rajab 1342 AH which corresponds to the 3rd of March 1924 CE was a day that true misery came to the Ummah of Muhammad (saw). It was that day that the Khilafah (Caliphate) was demolished by the British colonialists in which traitors from the Arabs and Turks collaborated with. It was that fatal day that we, the Ummah of Muhammad (saw), lost our noble shield. Leaving us in the open, giving our enemies any chance to strike at any moment. Leaving us lost in the dark, trying to get back to the Nour of Islam. We were left with no security, becoming like children, desperately wanting to feel protected.

We went from being one strong Ummah, who had a noble army that would open new lands to Islam, to having our lands taken from us. Defenseless, they separated us with borders and gave every state a new flag and a puppet ruler. The plan was to divide and conquer, in the effort to make us weak. But that wasn’t enough for them. They needed to own all we had. The British then decided to give our blessed land Palestine, the land of Isra’ wal Mirage (the Night Journey) to the Jews, creating a jewish entity; shedding the blood of our Muslim brothers and sisters daily. Their homes were taken away and millions of our brothers and sisters fled for safety. Trying to escape the atrocities committed by this Zionist regime. But Palestine is not the only place that has suffered since the fall of the Khilafah. Other Muslim lands have suffered. A few more examples are: Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan etc. Our brothers and sisters would flee, leaving their homes to find safety; risking suffocation and drowning! It was so bad that even going out to sea was safer than staying home!

We went from having the best economy, even reaching a point where there was none in need to distribute Zakah to, to Muslims now exhausted from poverty and hardship. Even though the Muslim lands have all the world’s resources under their feet and fertile lands!

We went from having the best universities, in which the princes and princesses of Europe would favor to learn from, and where the Arabic language was considered for the knowledgeable, to having to migrate to the west in order to find a better and decent education.

And in these non-Muslim lands, we find our brothers and sisters also suffering. Whether it was hate crimes which took place in the street, or concentration camps to brainwash Muslims from their Islamic values and identity. Trying to scare them away from the security of Islam, from the way of Allah (swt). Hearing all sorts of stories of hate and torture, while our treacherous Muslim rulers are unwilling to send their willing armies to help give Nussrah to our helpless brothers and sisters!

The Muslims that went to the west to find a better life also suffer a battle within themselves. Fearing that they, or a child of theirs, lose their Islamic identity. For there are many of our brothers and sisters who had lived in the west that were dazzled by the allure of this worldly life. Where the shaytan had distracted them from the path of Allah (swt), leading them to the dark woods of the Dunya. Making them forget their Islamic identity. And when one loses their Islamic identity, one loses the sense of brotherhood that is brought by Islam. The bond by the tauhid, La illaha ila Allah Muhammadur Rasul Allah. Losing the Islamic identity causes our bond to dissolve. And we, Muslims, are of one body and this is what many of our brothers and sisters fear of losing. As the Messanger of Allah (saw) said,

« مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ وَتَعَاطُفِهِمْ مَثَلُ الْجَسَدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنْهُ عُضْوٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّى»

“The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.”

In this sacred month of Rajab, we want to remind our Ummah of who we truly are. It is important for us, as one body, to work together to get rid of the disease that has come into our body. To get our only medicine and heal ourselves from this illness. To bring back our shield and work toward reestablishing the noble Khilafah, Caliphate, upon the method of prophet hood. To bring all of our brothers and sisters out of the misery they have been put in. To strive to bring all those who are oppressed out of the oppression and punish the oppressors!! The prophet Muhammad (saw) said,

کانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ تَسُوسُهُمْ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ كُلَّمَا هَلَكَ نَبِيٌّ خَلَفَهُ نَبِيٌّ وَإِنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي وَسَيَكُونُ خُلَفَاءُ فَيَكْثُرُونَ» قَالُوا: فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ قَالَ: «فُوا بِبَيْعَةِ الْأَوَّلِ فَالْأَوَّلِ أَعْطُوهُمْ حَقَّهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَائِلُهُمْ عَمَّا اسْتَرْعَاهُمْ»

“The affairs of Bani Isra’eel were looked after by the Prophets. After a Prophet died, he was succeeded by another Prophet. There is no Prophet after me, but there will be Khulaf’aa.” They asked, “What do you order us to do?” He replied, “Give them bay’ah one after another, for Allah will ask them about what He entrusted them with.” (Bukhari).

Enough is enough! It has been 101 years since and it’s time we bring back the mercy to mankind! Bring back the Light (Nour) of Islam on the earth! To have a true leader, who fears Allah (swt) and cares for Muhammad (saw)’s Ummah. One who will take care of all our affairs! One who will move armies to anyone who lays a finger on our women and children! It’s time to put our full efforts into bringing back the Khilafah! Let's stand together once again, as one Ummah, because our bond is a bond that will never be broken. And we will stand strong once again.

May Allah bless us with our noble shield, the Khilafah!
