Organization of Turkic States: Russia Overboard

News:

On the 11th of November in Samarkand there was held a meeting of the heads of states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG). The meeting was chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the topic was "A new era of Turkic civilization: on the way to common progress and prosperity".

The meeting was attended by the heads of Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh (the upper house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov (these two countries have observer status in the UTC).

Among other things, such a direction as ensuring security in the region was a names a priority. The heads of states pointed the importance of constant contacts and strengthening of interaction between law enforcement agencies and special services in the fight against terrorism, extremism, youth radicalization, human trafficking, drug trafficking, in the areas of ensuring public and cyber security.

Comment:

Turkey under the leadership of Erdogan has been making efforts for several years to unite around itself the Turkic states, most of which are CIS countries - a zone of colonial influence and control of Russia. As a vivid example of the attention Erdogan paid to this pan-Turkist project can be seen in his fulfillment of all the requests of the dictatorial regimes of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to persecute their critics living in Turkey.

And finally, the most opportune moment has come to start seizing the initiative from Russia, which traditionally gathered the countries of Central Asia and controlled most of the processes in the region: Russia, as a result of a complete military failure in Ukraine, fell into a severe collapse, from which it is unlikely get out. For many, it is already obvious that the Putin regime is doomed – that is why we can see how many former officials and elites who previously served the regime flee Russia like rats from a sinking ship.

Of course, Central Asian dictators feel the same way as some of them are completely dependent on the Russian military for their personal security. And therefore, it is natural that the regimes in the region began to look for other centers of power with which they can come to an agreement on their future fate and security.

Therefore, it is expected that while the trend towards weakening Russia continues, the role and influence of such organizations will only be strengthened under the auspices of Turkey, which, however, is too early to rejoice, given the fact that Turkey is not at all independent in its foreign policy agenda, but only implements American global geopolitical plans.
