Adopting Secular Liberal Policies Causing More Pain in Somaliland

News:

The self-declared state of Somaliland held its sixth general election on 13th November since its 1991 break from Somalia. The election came amid regional tensions and hopes for international recognition after 30 years of self-rule. Somaliland Electoral Commission announced Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Irro” as the winner of the presidential election with 63.92% of the vote, defeating Muse Bihi, who secured 34.81%.

Comment:

Somaliland broke ties with Somalia’s government in Mogadishu after declaring independence in 1991, and has sought international recognition as an independent state since then. No foreign government recognizes its sovereignty, but many effectively acknowledge the region as separate from Somalia. The region being a breakaway state grappling with the Las Anod an ongoing armed conflict, the Somaliland National Army and the Khaatumo SSC (Sool, Sanaag and Cayn regions) forces of the Dhulbahante in Las Anod, the capital of the Sool region.

Somaliland’s clamor for independence is not the way forward to resolves her problems. The concept of independence after World War II, came to signify “liberation” from colonialism. In reality, this is its superficial meaning only. The truth is that the owner of this matter is the US, which invented it to create an opportunity to strip the colonies from other colonizers. The local political leaders are “house niggers” who the true beneficiary of the hand over and not the common people of Somaliland.

As for perennial elections in Somaliland, these have been an attempt by the West in whipping emotions on changes to resuscitate it and hoodwink the people. Prosperity in Somaliland and elsewhere in the world cannot be achieved by being recognized by United Nations but or by holding elections since these are vicious colonial policies that harm the people. It is through capitalist’s attempts that has plunged the entire Somalia and the rest of Muslim countries into perpetual conflict.

The struggle for power between Europe and America contributed to decades of civil war, secessionist movements and break away states. As for America, it has not ceased yearning for the control in Somalia, that is, during the reign of Siad Barre (pro–American) which remained until 1991 when the armed clans removed him, flipping the balance in the America-British struggle in favor of Britain, where after America lost control and instability took hold. Britain moved quickly to its previous mandate (British Somaliland) and announced the establishment of the independent ‘Republic of Somaliland’ in the same year. The, pro- Western leaders in Somaliland and the rest of Somalia have given ‘rights’ to oil companies from France, the UK, the UAE, and China exploring its rich natural resources such as uranium, oil and natural gas.

The sorry-state of Somalia along with its breakaway states will remain intact, unless the sincere Muslims from within and without recognize the fundamental mistake of adopting the secular capitalist ideology, and start working with Hizb ut Tahrir to resume the Islamic way of life by reestablishing the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood.
