Family and Future Generations Can Only Be Protected by Politicians with an Islamic Vision

Türkiye declared 2025 as the “Year of the Family”. Within this framework, interest-free loans have been announced for newly married couples and new childbirth support packages for children born after 1st of January 2025.
Comment:
At the conference, titled "Our Family is Our Future", held for the launch of the Family Year Program, President Erdoğan spoke of the importance of family as the foundation of society, the importance of protecting the family institution and raising children with good morals, as well as the decrease in fertility rates, the increase of the age of marriage and divorce rates, And the gender neutralization policies, in which LGBT is used as a battering ram, against the family institution. He said that all of this was a conscious, deliberate, persistent and systematic attack against the family structure. He underlined that Turkey is "losing blood" in terms of its young and qualified population, that if the necessary measures are not taken against this existential threat, the loss of not only "population" but also "influence" will be inevitable, thus recalled of his familiar call for three children.
“These men who are at the head of the system” speak of these “systematic” attacks like ordinary citizens. They regard everyone and everything other than themselves as problematic and responsible. Yet, they do not distance themselves an iota from the constitution, the civil code, the legal system, which had been copy-pasted and enacted from the West, and do not give up on its secular education system and international agreements. They speak as if it is not themselves, who provide the necessary infrastructure for the entertainment industry, or who grant feminist organisation more say and influence than the ministers elected by the Muslim people, or who glorify the secularism in education. They speak, as if they had no tools or power to prevent the media and social media from propagating liberal lifestyles, sexual freedoms, hedonism and selfishness, and materialist capitalistic ideals under the name of freedom of thought. They speak, as if it is not them, who protect gender equality and gender neutralization policies based on the international agreements, which they signed with their own hands. Moreover, it is Erdogan himself and his AKP who contributed greatly to the strengthening of LGBT in Turkey, and who said, “It is a must that homosexuals are also legally guaranteed within the frame of their own rights and freedoms.”
However, for them, the real issue is not to preserve the valuesthat make a family a family, but to preserve the workforce that will contribute to the continuation of the capitalist economic system. This is what Erdoğan means by “existential threat”, loss of “population” and “influence”. The annual population growth rate in Turkey has almost come to a halt, falling to 1.1 per thousand in 2023. Also, according to the United Nations (UN) criteria, Türkiye is now designated as a “country with a very elderly population”. Türkiye is now faced with the problem of decreasing workforce along with the decreasing population. It has reached a level where it cannot carry out its industry, agriculture, health and education services without workforce from abroad.
You cannot make people start a family or have children with money, unless you eliminate elements of libertarian, hedonistic, and a selfish perspective on life, which prevent young people from getting married. You cannot raise moral generations as long as there are channels, TV series, publications and education systems that encourage atheism, deism and homosexuality. You cannot protect the family unity after decriminalizing adultery, and as long as there exists the Law No. 6283, which tears families apart. As long as the alcohol, drug and prostitution industry continue to operate, you cannot prevent violence against women and domestic violence.
In short; saving the family, the foundation of society, and preserving and strengthening morality (ahlaq) in society is only possible for politicians whose ideas, values and laws are Islamic, and who therefore have an Islamic vision and who govern with Islam. They rule upon what Rasulallah (saw) has showed them. In the state they rule; the factors that ensure family unity are piety (taqwa), sincerity (ihlas) and benevolence (ihsan). This state, which preserves, glorifies and teaches these factors that form the cornerstone of the family, is capable of protecting the family institution and future generations in every aspect.
Allah (swt) said:
[وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَخۡشَ ٱللَّهَ وَيَتَّقۡهِ فَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَآٮِٕزُونَ]
“For whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, and fears Allah and is mindful of Him, then it is they who will truly success.” [An-Nur: 52].
