Western Freedoms Make Muslim Women Feel Unsafe

Baroness Shaista Gohi, the head of Muslim Women's Network U.K. stated Wednesday that one in five Muslim women reported experiencing hate crimes over the past year. She advised that the law should treat racial and faith-based hate crimes as the same. She commented on the survey released that showed the statistics on how Muslim women experience social mistreatment.

Gohir said that negative political rhetoric, "particularly" from some politicians in the last government as well as online social media spaces and public commentators, resulted in rising "gendered Islamophobia.” I’d like it to be defined as gender-based violence ... because if you look at the stats again, the vast majority of the perpetrators tend to be males, white males," she said at Women and Equalities Committee, aiming to understand the specific challenges facing Muslim women in the U.K.

Mentioning that Muslim women and girls are easily targeted more due to headscarves or traditional dresses, Gohir pointed out the increasing hate crimes targeting British Muslim women not only on the streets but also online.

These people in positions of power discuss the problems of women from a fake solution point of view. They never want to admit the source of the problem and offer ideas for political show.

The promotion of racism is clear in Western liberal societies where media propaganda to promote wars in Muslim lands must be supported.

Labels given to Islam that it is a barbaric backwards culture and the support of nations that ban the hijab all contribute to a contradiction in what is said and what is actioned.

If Muslim women were looked after, the integration policies and monitoring programs that spy on and criminalise Islamic ideas would not exist. Attacks happen to Muslim women because public opinion is engineered to be anti-Islam. Freedom of expression to insult the sacred matters sits alongside the “right to wear Hijab.”

We as Muslim women must not fall for this false expression of support. We can only see the solution to our affairs as one that is comprehensively delivered by the Khilafah that makes mocking the practices of Muslims impossible.

There would never be a sense that attacks on Muslim women were easy without huge consequences. Now even the Muslim leaders themselves participate in the murder and violation of Muslim women and children at scale.

Currently, the security of Muslim women is optional. It is used as a billboard to advertise the substandard political goods of democracy and freedom that only increase the suffering of women globally.

We must take the advice of Allah (swt) when he advised that we only see the Quran and Sunnah as the measure of right and wrong.

[أَلَا لِلَّهِ الدِّينُ الْخَالِصُ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاء مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَا إِلَى اللَّهِ زُلْفَى إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ]

“Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only. And those who take Auliyâ' (protectors and helpers) beside Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allâh." Verily, Allâh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allâh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.”
